| | Wind Volt Technology      |     home back to  Wind Turbines Whisper Generators Whisper H20 500W Whisper 500W Wind Generator These are designed for gusty wind areas and marine environments. Main frame rotor shaft and boom are stainless steel. Tilt-up governor does not rely on springs and needs no adjustment. Rotor is made of high strength light weight material. Bearings are sealed and permanently lubricated. Generator comes with the EZ-Wire System Center which provides battery charge control for the wind generator and optional solar array plus other functions. Specifications
Notes: 1) Generator actually has 3 phase ac output which is converted to dc by bridge rectifier. 2) During windy conditions when batteries are fully charged excess power is automatically switched to the diversion load. Whisper H40 900 W The Whisper's new look features a cast aluminum frame and smooth, quiet operation of the patented "angle-governor" furling design.   Whisper H40 - The H40 is designed to operate in a site with medium to high wind speed averages of 12 mph, 5.4 m/s, and greater. The H40 provides 100+ kWh per month, 3.4 kWh per day, in a 12 mph average wind speed location. The H40, with its 7 ft. (2.1m) rotor diameter and 40 sq. ft. swept area, is rugged enough for extreme environments.  The redesigned H40 turbine incorporates a permanent magnet brushless alternator, which combined with Whisper's high efficiency composite airfoil blade design, delivers 900 watts peak power at 28 mph (12.5 m/s). Applications - Stand-alone or hybrid Telecommunication applications, remote home and ranch applications. New EZ Wire Controller - The H40 comes with the new EZ Wire II Controller that offers greater reliability and superior control for battery charging. Its compact, safe cabinet design features easily settable voltage regulation points, load dump and load dump isolation from the battery. The price of the system includes the H40 turbine and EZ Wire II Controller. New Design Features - The H40 was redesigned in the fall of 1999 Stronger cast aluminum housing New Angle-Governor provides higher maintained output while furling Improved current carrying capacity Sealed yaw bearings Temperature tested from -30F to over 90F Temperature tested from –40°F (-40°C) to 110°F (43°C) Increased heat transfer for better cooling Blades: 3 injection-molded, fiber reinforced Patented Angle-Governor Exclusive to the Whisper, the side-furling Angle-Governor protects the turbine in high winds by turning the alternator and blades out of the wind, reducing turbine exposure. Unlike other wind turbines that lose as much as 80% of their output when furled, the Angle-Governor allows the Whisper to achieve maximum output in any wind. EZWIRE II SPEC SHEET Southwest Windpower would like to introduce the NEW EZWIRE II, the next-generation wind turbine controller that is now standard on 24V, 36V and 48V Whisper H40 and H80 Turbines. Notes: 1) Generator actually has 3 phase ac output which is converted to dc by bridge rectifier. 2) During windy conditions when batteries are fully charged excess power is automatically switched to the diversion load. Whisper H80
Whisper H80 - The H80 is designed for the user who lives int low to moderate wind speed averages (less than 12mph, 5.4m/s).  The bigger brother to the H40, the H80 features a 10 ft (3.1m) rotor diameter and an 80 sq. ft. swept area that provides the user with greater output at low wind speed averages. The H80 has twice the swept blade area, providing double the potential energy as compared to the H40. The H80 also incorporates a permanent magnet alternator powered with an advanced airfoil, thus capturing the most energy in its class as compared to other competitive wind turbines. The H80 will deliver 6.3 KWH per day. The H80 comes with the standard EZ Wire controller. Turbine and controller are included in the price of the system. Optional towers are available. Specifications Rotor diameter: 10' (3.0 meters) Weight: 65 lbs (30 kg) Mount: 2,5" Schedule 40 Start-Up wind speed: 7.0 mph (3.1 m/s) Voltage: 12, 24, 32, 48 VDC Peak Power: 1000 Watts @ 24 mph (10.5 m/s) Specifications
Whisper 175 The most powerful wind turbine in our lineup The 3000-watt rated turbine will deliver in excess of 500 KWH per month in a 12 mph wind. This machine has a 14-foot (4.26m) rotor diameter providing 175 sq. ft. of swept area. The 175 has been redesigned, incorporating a stronger, larger yaw shaft, new blade stabilizer straps and a third spindle bearing for increased reliability. The 175 features a handmade fiberglass and foam core blade for smooth, high efficiency operation and low wind startup. It also incorporates the patented "angle governor" design for quiet operation in high winds. The 175 is an excellent machine for village power projects, farms, ranches, back-up power and remote homes with large energy demands. Specifications

WINDSEEKER is the ideal turbine when your power requirements are higher or you have extremely windy conditions. Since its inception over ten years ago, over 4,000 WINDSEEKER's have been produced and shipped around the world. OPERATION: The WINDSEEKER has a permanent magnet brush-less alternator that rectifies the voltage and controls the output internally. This allows better control of the alternator and minimizes connections to the battery. This is also a safety feature, preventing the turbine from damaging itself or harming the user due to excess voltage. REGULATION & CONTROL ELECTRONICS: The electronics performs several functions to assure maximum output and safety for the user. The control electronics maintain a load on the alternator at all times to make sure that the turbine never over speeds, regardless of the condition of the battery. As the battery is charged, the sophisticated regulator periodically checks the line, correcting for voltage loss and monitoring charge rate. Once the battery has reached its optimum charge level the regulator shuts the current off, preventing the battery from being overcharged while maintaining a load on the alternator at all times to prevent over speeding. If your application requires a powerful wind turbine and is in a place with potentially high winds then consider the WINDSEEKER. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
